Tour de New York

The Tour de New York is an annual professional bicycle racing event on the USA Cycling tour, held in the Finger Lakes region of New York State, centered in Rochester. It started in 2004 as the Rochester Twilight Criterium, a fast race on a short loop along downtown streets. In 2008, it was expanded into a three-day event called the Rochester Omnium, with the Twilight Criterium as its centerpiece. In 2009, the event had been planned to expand to six days (August 8–13, 2009), at venues throughout the Finger Lakes region, resulting in its new name, the Tour de New York; however, the 2009 event was canceled due to financial considerations.
